Rep Power: 0 | The reason I will not host my site on a server located in India is because I cannot trust the Indian staff to be always competent. Don't sue me for racism, I am myself an Indian and live in India, and can safely tell you that US staff is more reliable when you need them the most. From all my experience about services in India, I will only say that they have upgraded in terms of manners, kind of clothes they wear, the english they speak, show-off, etc. but service quality still remains poor and a customer has to literally cry infront of the companies to get his work done-for which he is paying money. And this is true even for ISP/hosting providers. I had to once speak to a customer care lady from Exatt Broadband who does not know the multiplication factor between bytes and bits. She thought they are the synonyms(I know its lame). Now you know why competent Indians are hired abroad and the incompetent ones are left over in India to 'harrass' the helpless Indian masses. I know I may be going slightly offtopic, but I have developed a sort of hatred for small and medium size Indian businesses because of their way of functioning. The typical customer of these is one who pays their hard-earned money and then begs to get the service as 'promised'. There are also some real class businesses in India, but you need really good luck to get associated with them. Else 99% of small busiesses in India are full crap! Most of the time people don't have an alternative option! When an American customer pays money for a service, you should see what attitude they have. They are very demanding and professional buyers. One things out of its place and they will abuse you and get the work done in no time. In India, the reverse is true. Once you pay the service provider, you are at his mercy. They really aren't bothered for how much you paid or worked hard for that money. Last edited by rohan_shenoy; 18-06-2008 at 08:29 AM. |
