    Default Best shared hosting providers

Below is a list of hosting providers which I think are one of the best around and with a very impressive track recored

To start with the name where this site is hosted :

    Host Gator
The prices are very reasonable under $10 per month. plenty of space and bandwidth and since i have moved to this host ive never had any problems and they have live chat to assist you 24/7. By far the best in the market or else i wouldnt have got hosting from them. Click here to check them out.

Here is another very good shared host called Host monster and they beat hostgator prices with a very big margin. If anyone has used thier hosting please drop a few words about your experiences.

Keep watching this thread for more options as i will keep adding more hosting providers here every week.

Yes forumrating this site is hosted with hostgator and been with them for more then 10 months and I am happy with thier services and havent ever thought about moving to another host even though some of them are much cheaper but as they say you get what you pay for.
Thier response time is something I dont know about coz in 10 months I have never had any trouble atall, Hope this tells the tale.

yaa..the two host mentioned by Admin is great. But they provide high end hosting. I mean not fit for those who wish to run a small personal website.

I mean ..that these hosts don't provide small hosting ..like 100 Mb or 200 MB.

A personal website don't need more than 100 MB space.

When it comes to reliability, big players like host gator are second to none and $10 per month is not a big price to pay to keep your database safe all the time.

    ^^^^^^^^^
10 US$ wont be much for U..as U are in UK and may be earning in ponds.

But here in India 10 US$ (Rs. 400/-) per month..for just a personal websites..and some experiments mean something.

Most people just prefer to spend not more than Rs. 1k per yr for its their small website.

I agree with you..that host gator are awesome host provider...but their price is little high. They are brand name in hosting..so people trust them..and don't hesitate to pay more.

I agree with you in that respect.. My post was targeted towards those who want to set up websites in view of making money out of them.
Yes there are a lot of $1 per month sort of web hosts available but then again you would have to back up your blog or site almost every day and downtime will always keep you from getting good rankings coz google doesnt like pages which are down every now and then.. and be assured that $1 hosts will have thousands of sites on just one server and due to that they get outages due to sudden surge in traffic on one site or the other from time to time.

dear..time has changed now.Price of bandwidth and hardware has really gone to bottom.
But host gator are still on their old price.

I don't want to advertise mine host here. But like me ..there are many host provider who keep daily, weekly, and monthly backup of all hosted websites.....so backup is not a issue.

Now uptime...Again most good companies keep their server at well known data centers like softlayes, ThePlanet who gurantee 99.9 % uptime.

I again don't want to advertise myself.....but many like me give 99.9 % uptime else money return for that month.

So, dear..its not only host gator where our website is safe. There are many..but yeah once again...Before any choose any host...they must ask few basic things, LIKE:
    1) Are you over selling.
    2) Uptime guarantee......
    3) Money back-->> if the host failed to provide, as stated...than will they give back money.
    4) Server configuration.
    5) Server IP-->> to test server location.
    6) Server datacenter.
    7) Server upload speed.

I dont have idea about " SEO connection with server location" ..But we focus on price, support, and uptime.

US based datacenter are specialised of these things..........
I wish one day..we Indian will be also getting 100 Mbps connection at very cheap rate...so that we cant host our serber in India only.

Just to give you a hint about the SEO part... If you have a .com domain hosted in USA and you want your site to rank well in serps at google.co.in ... the easiest way would be move your hosting to any location in India with an IP address associated with India (satellite connections like they have in Bangladesh wont work coz they still have an IP address from Hawaii USA).
I have had very good experiences with experiments like these especially with UK .. All my UK targeted websites are hosted in UK and like wise any country specific sites I have are normally hosted in the respective country to get an edge over competition.

That looks like a very reasonable rates. Do you really suggest it for having a blog hosted in it. Which one can you suggest me between those two for us Indians in terms of pricing and adaptability.

    hi
After having gone through this thread, I placed an order for 24 months with BlueHost today which seems to be quite expensive, at USD 166.00 and paid by credit card. Now I realised my mistake, and like to cancel it and get my money back. Can you suggest how can I do that and find some cheaper but reliable Host provider, as I intend to have a website not more than 100 MB having about 20 pages initially. I don't need a Big Website but a small starter package.

Most hosts will entertain a refund request within 30 days.. ask them to do a refund as you dont like it anymore...

If its your site your own site and you want to see how it is in the back end and stuff I can give you some space in a new box I am going to get sometime next month... wont charge you anything for you are a member here.

The reason I will not host my site on a server located in India is because I cannot trust the Indian staff to be always competent. Don't sue me for racism, I am myself an Indian and live in India, and can safely tell you that US staff is more reliable when you need them the most.

From all my experience about services in India, I will only say that they have upgraded in terms of manners, kind of clothes they wear, the english they speak, show-off, etc. but service quality still remains poor and a customer has to literally cry infront of the companies to get his work done-for which he is paying money. And this is true even for ISP/hosting providers. I had to once speak to a customer care lady from Exatt Broadband who does not know the multiplication factor between bytes and bits. She thought they are the synonyms(I know its lame). Now you know why competent Indians are hired abroad and the incompetent ones are left over in India to 'harrass' the helpless Indian masses.

I know I may be going slightly offtopic, but I have developed a sort of hatred for small and medium size Indian businesses because of their way of functioning. The typical customer of these is one who pays their hard-earned money and then begs to get the service as 'promised'.

There are also some real class businesses in India, but you need really good luck to get associated with them. Else 99% of small busiesses in India are full crap! Most of the time people don't have an alternative option!

When an American customer pays money for a service, you should see what attitude they have. They are very demanding and professional buyers. One things out of its place and they will abuse you and get the work done in no time. In India, the reverse is true. Once you pay the service provider, you are at his mercy. They really aren't bothered for how much you paid or worked hard for that money.
