Thread: Good webhost?

OK, I'm planning to get a web hosting and a domain name (I was using a free webhost until now). I know there are a lot of webhosts in the US and all, but I need one from India, because I'll only pay by a debit-card (I got no CC :P).

I did some searching and found out about speedhost.in
anyone has any experience with it?

PS: How much is a 5GB monthly transfer limit for a personal website?
I know it depends on the no. of visitors, but I get around like 600 visits per month, so is 5GB enough for it?

i just got a webhost from Germany, costed me 9$ (for 3 months) for 3000MB Webspace and 50GB Bandwith, but they only accepts paypal.

if you website has 600 Visits per month then I don't think it requires 5 GB Bandwidth(if you are not running any website like which is hosting wallpapers or any files). My personal blog has more that 3500 Unique Visitors per month and it hardly cross 2.5 GB traffic. If you send me a PM with complete details like your website name, disk space required I can suggest some webhosting companies...

i think wifi4india.com is better at 3500 with unlimited brandwidth and unlimited sub domains and domain registration fee included.

Check znetindia.com too. I used them 2 years back, and they where ok that time. Though I would recommend to use a US based host like bluehost.

its good you deciding to host from India itself. There are many well know companies in India Most of them charge more but the services are good. like wise i am a client of creedhost. you can check them if you want.

Indian webhosts are there any??And if they are really there, they must be providing poor pings, too expensive.
Than most of peeps have their own servers to tackle such issues but they are big peeps like timesofindia rediff or sify. (which have large resources and money to back it).

Indian webhost if some 2nd company is saying probably its a reseller i guess.
