Are you intend to open a hosting company? If you are, you are suppose to know the equipment / resources, right?

As a new business owner, in fact, you can start up with sign up a dedicated server from a web hosting company. Generate your customer base first before spend a big amount to buy the servers / becoming the domain reseller.

nope, Dedi is required.

VPS is essential for a beginner. After getting more customers , you can move to dedicated hosting..

But, as a beginner, reseller hosting is the best.. You may contact rmediahosting@gmail.com They give reseller hosting for just Rs.2500 Per YEAR in India.

you can get reseller hosting at much cheaper rates than the ones mentioned above. Just do some research on google.

Get a good hardware...

1. Server with Intel Xeon Processor x64 x2 (Supported Main board)
2. Minimum Ram 8 GB (4 GB per processor)
3. 1 TB HDD (SATA)
4. 3 NIC interface (to three upstream providers) (1 also sufficient) but downtime will be more.
5. Three static IP address (1 also sufficient) but downtime will be more.
6. and standard hardware like monitor, mouse, keyboard.
7. OS selection is based on the technology you used for open source Linux is based, for commercial based Windows server 2008 R2 server SP1 (Virtual machines are supported by this configuration Linux & windows hyper V)
8. should have the good knowledge of http servers and their configurations like Apache & IIS, DNS bind & Windows based,FTP etc.
9. Good firewall recommended hardware based sonicwall or junuper.
10. routing and binding of NIC with load balancing you can get 1 mbps to 2 mpbs per up stream provider so total will be either 3 mbps or 6 mbps based on your budget.

With this you can host upto 20 website on one server with good download and upload speed of 285kbps browsing speed per website, this is good for standard html and forum based were you don't have big images because static content require low bandwidth and forum are based on database.

There are various hosting company.they will help and guide you with information.It is the best way. you can also surf on Google.

i do have a plan to start web hosting company. i think its minimum cost is 10 lak i think so.. is there any other suggestion please let me to know.

10 Lakhs is to much for web hosting company were as you can start your company with initial investment of Just 2.5 Lakhs.

what you mean, i wanna start data center ....can you send me the requirments in PM and the cost for that.

web hosting company and data centres are two different things. if you want to start it in India in 10 or 20 lakh rupees, good joke. you cant depend on ISPs like airtel, bsnl for connectivity. and if you want to become your own ISP then you should have alteast 3 crores alone for becoming ISP. money is not every thing in this business. you should have full technical knowledge about it. your clients will literally kill you if your system goes down even for few minutes.

i run 3 websites and trust me except new webmasters nobody will even see your hosting page.

Starting a web hosting is not difficult as it seems guys.
If you want to start a resller hosting where you will provideweb hosting only or domain registration only den buy vps for it. Later you can change it tto dedi.
If you wanna host a company where you can sell vps to den you have to buy a server (Germany Server is best) and by creating a rdp u can create a vps in it and sell it.
If you wanna a launch a comapny where you can sell dedicated server den u have to buy a datacenter.
