I have created a new forum. Its name is indiatechforum.tk . I want to know how to attract members and what initial topics to add to my forum. This is also my first website which is being hosted on my home computer itself. ANY HELP AND ADVICE IS APPRECIATED. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Nice forum. Build a good team. Conduct discussions and post updates about tech world. Ask you authors to add a lot of genuine content. Also submit your URL to Search engines.

I tried to register for the google search and yahoo. But I am not able to verify my domain. I use indiatechforum.tk to refer to the DNS indiatechforum.servehttp.com. when I put up the META tags or put an html file it doesnt recognize it. Can You tell me how to add a DNS TXT record??

Thanks for your concern Rajan. Could you take a look at it now. I am using .tk cuz its free and I am using it to mark my huger domain( indiatechforum.servehttp.com ). It works fine. You couldn't access it cuz I was fiddling wid the DNS settings at that time. sorry.
I just realised that I cant actually add DNS TXT records. So I need help to verify this domain via HTML or META tags.. Thanks in advance

If you are serious about your website, it will be better to get a .net or .com domain. Even .org will do. Once you establish your website and create backlinks, it will be difficult to change the domain.

.tk is a free domain.. and as meetdilip said, people dont take it serously...

OK.. will think about it. The problem is I am only 15 years old and I am also in the 10th grade now. Sooo my parents will ask me to put my studies ahead of my so called hobby. Will surely do it next year though.

Your site is quite good for a 15 year old. Keep up the good work. Lot more to study, but will find ample time for that.

a new domain must not cost you more than 500 Rs. for one year(inclusing dns which you will need in redirecting your forum to it)..

i think thats quite less for an average student.. if you waste your money on some crappy games cds or movie cds , its better that you do some nice work and you will be rewarded back with lots of feedbacks from people as well..

what you need to do is, call some domain provider in India, ask them their cost of a domain for one year +dns and check out how to send money to them,,

most of them have services like DDs and cheques of Nationalised banks so it will be fare for your pocket abillities if you dont have a credit card facility..

you will be charged a mere Rs 50 extra for DD charges and nill for cheques if they accept them..

you can also get 50 @yourdomain emails hosted on google servers by help of google apps.. so you may also provide that email ids to your relatives or senior forumers..

its just Rs500 mate, do it during your holidays,will be a nice learning experience for you...

Btw, you might want to look for a better name next time... avoid the word "forum" in the url, it kinda restricts your site to just a forum and not a full tech site
