How to start a website?

To start a website I know you need a domain name and hosting. But how do you start a website, what are the factors that you need to consider into making a website, and what should your website be based on?

These are just some of the questions I have in mind but there are many more, can I can get help from people to how to start a website and what I would need to take into consideration?

Correct that you need a domain name and hosting company to make your website go live!

I dont have tremendous knowledge but before doing anything you need ideas and think why you are doing something.

Do you want a website as a hoobby, to pass on infromation about certain things, a way of making money? Once you have thought about this then you can choose your ideal topic or base of your website, and its from then on you will be able to set your path into starting a website.

Im quite surprised to see there are many people on the forum who have their own website and their own hosting too....that's quite good.........but only one reply to my thread!!!!

First Of All....You need a IDEA about what you want to start a website. (Maybe News/Magazines, Games, Music, Videos, Entertainment, etc)...Also you need to know that you are opening a WEBSITE for just a hobby, or to make money.
Then you need to register a Domain Name and get Hosting also.
Then you need to build the website by yourself or hire a PROFESSIONAL to build it for you. (Don't worry that dosen't cost that much...For a basic website building it costs about 10$-15$).
And then start promoting your website so that peoples come to your website and use your contents.
I had a website and I closed that becuase peoples didn't found my domain name good "NUKKADWALEY.COM".....so i am selling this and I will start again by getting a Domain Name and building it myself because I am a Basic cum Professional Web Designer.

Thinking of starting a website myself too. But dont know if I would be able to devote enough time to it.

I think a lot of thought needs to go into starting a website, its the same with any big idea especially when your spending money. Your idea of what your going write would reflect on the name of your domain as well. Its important to have a good name for a domain name, which would only be thought of once you have thought about what the content of you website would be based on.

Try thinking of the reason first why you want to build a website. And so if you specified the detaild then you can go and start one. It is hard to start building if you don't plan it first. Just like planning on building a house, there a plan, so it is important to start from scratch and then do the actual.

The answer to your question depends entirely on what type of site you wanted to create. You need to first decide on this and then you can think of various options like content, traffic, domain, service etc. It is better not to try areas where you are completely blank. For example if you have some experience in general online earning techniques, you can start a forum on online earning ideas. But that doesn't mean than you can start a Forex site on your own without having adequate knowledge.

To make a forum successful first of all you need to be very active in that forum and always on the look out for members who are spamming forum. You can also take help of your forum members to identify spammers.
