Default Setting up a web server in India

    Hi,
I am planning to setup a webserver (Linux) in India, for testing / training purpose, and later as a professional webhosting company. Right now I have a internet connection of 1Mb. on which webserver will work. The sites will be accessed from remote loactions (WEB)

I have some doubts in mind, please clarify --- help required.

    1) Does I have to take permission from the government for webserver / hosting service providing.
    2) does the ISP deny me to make a webserver and hosting sites.

or else what is the procedure to setup a webserver.

    Please guide me

    Thanks

Well with 1 mbps connection you would not be able to have any good hosting service and more over you need to have 100 mbps connection (atleast) for good hosting service.

Setting up a web server in India is not that much easy.. If you see you would need high speed internet connection which is one of the biggest problem and if you manage to get one it would be really very much costly which i think no one would like to use.

I would not recommend you to start a webhosting business in india right now. It would be nice to get a reseller package as hosting servers in India is not that much of a good business thing.

A reseller hosting or a VPS is good to test the waters if you want to resell web hosting, for learning purposes a linux server can be setup with ubuntu etc, some good BCA colleges and Tech Blogs teach how to do it. When you don't need 100% uptime and great speed you do not need to get a leased line i think.
