    Window7 is cool, you found what you want to do. It is more easier to do a job. But windows matter on the user.

    I know microsoft products are always user friendly and easy to use and customizable but I hope Windows 7 is not a memory hog like Vista.

    I agree microsoft products are user friendly and easier to use. However if you have used Linux, you would change your mind in mentioning your third point.... *Customizable*.

    NOTE : Its possible to play some of the latest games in Linux ... you need Wine for that .. Have never used it so dunno about its effectiveness ....

    Just got fifa 09 dvd ... yet to install ......no time ..... Just got the xbox 360 controller for windows specially for fifa 09 !.....

    @j4k

    MS office 2007 needs getting used to ... but once when you get used to it ...There s no going back .... You can create superb presentations,docs etc in a very short time .....Office groove feature is Mondo coolio !

    I am surprised most of u guys have nt already seen the Windows 7 promo video ...it was released nearly 2 months ago ....

    Well anyways Windows 7 also supports touch screen interface .....for enabled devices .ofcourse

    @thats me

    Windows 7 is no less a memory hog than Vista .... It should be thought of as an advanced version of Vista ....Neither a back track to XP nor a Complete break away from all previous O.S es

    It looks cool but I hope it does not have the problems that the others have had when first released.

    Microsoft said during the conference that it was specifically working on Windows 7 to make sure that it is also not dogged by many errors as in Vista ..

    Well Since most games (if not all of them) are DirectX based the newer games Which will support pixel shader 4 and above will definitely face problems in linux. LINUX IS GREAT BUT NOT FOR GAMING AND HIGH END MULTIMEDIA PURPOSES I HAVE FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE.

    Beta version means its in testing phase... Beta users are none other than microsoft's own employees and some experts who are given copies of microsoft 7... Its not for commercial sale.... I've a beta version Windows 7 which I downloaded... But can't tell u here cuz its against rules... search google...

    Default Windows 7 explained in seven sentences

    Windows 7 explained in seven sentences

    1. Windows 7 doesn't have the big architectural changes of Vista - or the compatibility problems - so all your stuff that works with Vista should work fine with Windows 7.

    2. Windows 7 doesn't nag you like Vista does - many notifications are banished to a control panel, you get to approve icons before they show up in the system tray and you can choose which UAC prompts you want to see, or turn them off altogether.

    3. Windows 7 uses Jump Lists to put what you're most likely to want to do at your fingertips by showing recent and frequently used documents, so if you click Internet Explorer in the Start menu or taskbar you can view a list of recently visited websites, for example.

    4. Windows 7 makes home networking easier with a feature called HomeGroup, which offers a simple wizard-driven approach to network connections and file and folder sharing, while it also makes it easier to get connected to Wi-Fi or 3G networks, by using a menu that lists all the access points that pops up right from the system tray.

    5. Windows 7 won't feature Windows 7 Ultimate Extras (they're dead!), or the native Vista accessories that are duplicated as Windows Live tools - stuff like Mail, Photo Gallery, Messenger and so on will be downloadable in 'wave three' of Windows Live.

    6. Windows 7 will run faster than Vista, according to the Windows Performance team, which says that "if a system runs Windows Vista it should run Windows 7 faster and a notebook that runs Vista should get better battery life on Windows 7".

    7. Windows 7 will run happily on netbooks, according to Microsoft's Steven Sinofksy, who says the Windows 7 team is "really quite pleased internally with performance of Windows 7 even on what we today consider to be low-end netbooks; the ones that run with an Atom processor, the ones that have a gigabyte of RAM."

    Sounds good... Especially cuz people who upgraded or bought new system for Vista won't have to do that again to run Windows 7... Thats very important!
