    "ipconfig release renew done"-----????
i have never used this modem/router before.
How many pc(s)/laptop(s) are connected to it.Only one???
Try changing the ip address and dns server ip of each pc connected to it. Do a system and modem restart. Then try logging in the modem.
Of course this will only work if the problem is due to an IP conflict.

In XP I did this, when I couldn't log in to router page after I switched to bridge mode. I found the solution in a website.

BTW. Why did you started this thread in OS page ?

what i meant was manually set the pc's ip to something like 192.168.0.11 and gateway to 192.168.0.1, then try to login.

Yes, that's true. So can't he do the same process for his connection too, with his ip ?

i tried this idea of manual/forced IP but still was unable to pull router page

    IP.....................192.168.0.2
    Subnet...............255.255.255.0
    Gateway.............192.168.0.1

    still no joy

Enable DHCP on your Windows computer and do an "ipconfig /release" and then "ipconfig /renew". If it gets an IP address - click on the Windows start button - go to RUN and try "iexplore 192.168.0.1" - replace 192.168.0.1 with whatever default gateway you get. This should bypass all add-ons or possible redirectors loaded in your browser which might prevent you from getting to the Router GUI. Also in your NIC properties page - try disabling everything except - Client for Microsoft Networks, File and Printer Sharing, Internet Protocol - TCP/IP (or IPv4) and RESTART your computer. Some antivirus softwares install additional firewall hooks to the NIC which might even cause this (even after you disable or unintstall it - "improper")

If the above t/s does not work you could try booting your PC into safe mode with networking and if it still doesn't work - hard reset the netgear. You could also check out the other ethernet ports on the netgear router (switch?)
