| Junior Member | dude! u can boot from usb drive if and only if u have bootable portable USB version of any operating system. I dunno abt the laptop specifications u have mentioned but go n check whether it has USB boot support |

| If you are looking to install windows xp from USB let me tell its quite complicated. And i hear that it will install properly only if the HDD is not partitioned (not sure abt this). If you want to boot into a feature limited version of XP then try BART's PE or similar s/w. |

| Aditya | i will suggest you not to use USB to install your OS as it may give you some problems during installation but the better idea is to get a windows xp disc from any computer vendor and use that to install your OS. Windows xp disc is the best option to install OS on laptop. and please post the complete question with proper laptop details, i am sorry to say but your thread/ question was incomplete. |

Rep Power: 1 | I tried this once but it is way too complicated.Better avoid. Google search will give you a lot of results with tutorials, but trust me not worth it. Just pop in a CD in your drive & you'll be done in a flash. |
