Changing Boot screen without any software

Default Changing Boot screen without any software

though people use softwares for this but we can change this without any software :-)

what we need?

1.an 16 color .bmp image and rename it to boot.bmp and copy it into c:\windows it shold be 640x480 exact in resolution

2. open urs boot.ini file and add these two entries there after /fastdetect option /bootlogo /noguiboot

and ur done

are u sure this won't affect stability of the system? cuz boot.ini file is something which isn't recommended to play with...

Nope they are completely safe even if they are screwed up u can always use a live linux cd to get back to normal state.

Use can check their use here : MSDN

Jus fancy stuff thats all !

Instead of looking at the boring windows logo everytime you start windows , you can replace it with with a picture of your company logo or your girlfriend () now that makes your life more interesting ain't it ?

There's a catch however that the picture will not look as good as wat u can find in windows ( beacuse during startup windows supports only 16 colur mode)

U can use bootskin from Stardock s/w to automate this process, and its free.

We can change everything to look the way we want just for the fun of it ...

I used widgets and stuff to change my xp so now it looks like vista
