    Default Windows 7 Beta

Did anybody try the Windows 7 Beta?

I just had to ask to see if it is worth a download.
I have heard that it si somewhat a "Re-Vista", a modified Vista.

For those who want to download it

    Go Here

The Site did have some problems earlier.. But, it has been reported that it is up and running smoothly from the 10th. Actually, I tried today and I think its working good.

Due to an enormous surge in demand, the download experience was not ideal so we listened and took the necessary steps to ensure a good experience. We have clearly heard that many of you want to check out the Windows 7 Beta and, as a result, we have decided remove the initial 2.5 million limit on the public beta for the next two weeks (thru January 24th). During that time you will have access to the beta even if the download number exceeds the 2.5 million unit limit.
That was another happy news, because most would like to try it.

As I told, many call it a "Re-Vista". They say that Microsoft have compensated for many faults in Vista.

    I decided not to download.

    1. It's only useful for 6 months
    2. May have lots of bugs and problem
    3. Takes more than 5 hours to complete downloading
    4. Computer is faulty
I would have tried if I had a spare laptop.

i've been using windows 7 for about a month now, since build 6956 was leaked. And i dont think i would ever turn back to vista now. The beta build 7000 is very stable. No problems for me yet. This os is a lot lighter than vista. works fater, boots faster. It beats windows XP and Vista in every scenario, be it performance or stability or looks. earlier i was dual booting vista and 7. but now i use only windows 7 beta, it is a reliable operating system.

I haven't but my guess is that if they play well with vista, should work out well here too...

Til now i oly installed kaspersky and i'm not able to turn off its proactive defence or whatever crap. its givng me a headache, plus since Kasp 8 TP's installaton 7 has started sending error reports continously...

    Gonna try AVG instead...

legit lifetime license maybe too much considering the fact that there will be several millions of people testing win7. but at least they could have given some decent discount on MS OS products.
