U said it. Merely for performance needs. I need to make one clarification too. They use windows classic theme while using windows. The rest of the time (the lions share) they are either with some Linux distros and/or MAC OS.

MAC OS ?? what purpose can it possibly serve for admins and the like ?

most of the animation studios works on Mac/Linux........

I always used to think that the MAC os was only meant for desktops. Never even knew servers existed.
