Default Mod the XP setup to your own needs!

I decided to make this thread after some guys asked me too-

Here's how it goes, you can mod your XP installation or Vista installation using a software called nlite(vlite in cistas case) both of these softwares are free and can do almost anything that you want to do, slipstream the latest drivers, updates, SPacks, allows you to remove cmpletely obsolete components from yor installation, i've been able to make a Extreme performance edition od Xp Sp3 with the final installation coming out at 180 mb, it's so light you can even use it on older PC's like ur P3's P4's etc...

    sdownload nlite/vlite from here

I'll take any querie you have, make sure to read the guides and faq's there

    Does anybody know how to

    - change the background of XP setup
    - the text shown in GUI part of setup
    - installing packages during setup and things like that
    - tweaks , if any, not present in nlite

Actually i tried to package vista vg theme/style and it has the 3 file/folders :

    VistaCG.msstyles , folders : SegoeUI_Vista, Shell

I selected the file inside nlite and proceeded but after installing that xp , i found that the theme wasn't included at all..

I only heard of nLite yesterday, when I searched for a way to install Windows XP on SATA Hard Disk without using Floppy Disk. I haven't figured it out yet.

these softwares and utilities are good for experiments but if you got all the data saved on your main drive then i will suggest you not to go for such softwares, xp looks decent and neat with the orignal looks only and once its modified it may start giving problems.

ye i agree fixing problems is a fun part but everyone who comes here is not a computer expert know thats why i suggested not to go for such utilities and softwares, i always keep on doing strange things on my linux but when it comes to windows i simply escape

you really don't know when windows will show you some **** thats why got all my data saved in totally different drive, not on any partition or anything.

Using Floppy each time is hard. Is there any other way besides using nLite ?

Ubuntu is still my favorite. But I cannot use Google Talk or Yahoo Messenger in it for Voice & Video Chatting. And Skype is not working very well either.

I have tried that. But they are not working. Google Talk shows a blank windows without any icons/options. And Yahoo Messenger is not starting at all.

I haven't tried it yet. Do you think it's worth installing Vista (your opinion) ?
