I am able to name folders as given by jatinder911. The gripe is that it adds some extra character to the original three letter word.

so technically they are 3 characters only........so i'm right........but if we go with the question......my trick is just JUGAAD.......
yup thats why i said my one is jugaad.....
few years ago i found about CON etc names which are impossible to make but i find out alt+0160 which is a space that requires to make con, but when i saw ur post i don't know that u have taken CON from MAC OS, so i analyzed ur con very carefully changed to different fonts uni codes, symbols etc and found out that ur C in con is special that is fooling windows, ur O and N are acting normal in windows rather than C when i modify C attributes it wont come back to normal one!!!,actually i've done this in 10 mins didn't have time to check all Unicodes in Win vista with more hit and trial it will run flawlessly in earlier versions also then i will post here for assist.
hmmm......nice work buddy......i'll post some more tricks here later........currently i'm very busy in installing OS X latest version on my PC.......it worked in 10.5.2 version but not working in 10.5.6..........
keep in touch....
I prefer alt+255 ascii code after the reserve names like "CON*". You need to look very carefully to catch the trick.
In old Dos days, we use this trick to protect our folders.
