for those who dont know that what is Direct X

Direct X is a program which oftenly used for handling tasks related to multimedia, especially game programming and video, on Microsoft platforms.

Microsoft unveiled Direct3D 11 at the Gamefest 08 event in Seattle, with the major scheduled features including GPGPU support, tessellation support, and improved multi-threading support to assist video game developers in developing games that better utilize multi-core processors. Direct3D 11 will run on Windows Vista and its successor Windows 7. Parts of the new API such as multi-threaded resource handling can be supported on Direct3D 9/10/10.1-class hardware. Hardware tessellation and Shader Model 5.0 will require Direct3D 11 supporting hardware. Microsoft has since released the Direct3D 11 Technical Preview.

i think dx11 is already out with the trial/evaluation version on windows 7 ...

DirectX 11 made it first appearance in Windows 7 build 6933 shown during PDC 2008.

i just hope it to be compatible with the older graphics cards ...

i dont think that it ll work with all the graphic cards coz what i guess is when it come it comes with the latest pixal shading features.....nd those features only supports with few of the graphics cards........

Windows 7 beta build 7000 featured directx 11. No hacking necessary. The OS itself features Directx 11 inbuilt.

i havent dnlded the 7 build yet.all the buildsupto 6.8 had no mention of dx11.
i dont see it even with other manufacturers.

i still think the version you dnlded was some egyptian or arabic hack of the original..i had xp sp3 just sfter sp2 was eleased.it was an egyptian hack!!

that was not the original sp3 ... after sp2 and before the release of sp3 lots of hacked versions were on the net which claimed to be sp3 and i dont think we should use these hacked versions even if u do plz dont discuss about these here ...

ya exactly u r saying write they just only compress all the new updates in a single executable file nd call this file a WIN XP with SP3 ...........WTF is that.....we can do this ourself also........

softpedia gives all ther news so much in advance that even the manufacturer is surprised to knoe that he is producing something!!

it said vista rc1/sp1 was out in january,whereas it was available only around july!!

nope i got the first copy of Vista RC1 in January only and the pirate version took that much time to come up in normal market but most of the tech firms got the trial version (RC1) way back in Jan/Feb only.

yes i meant the stable version.the rc was being distributed for dev purposes from long back!!

must be something similar with this dx11..

Guys DX11 has a new feature called tessellation. That requires a different hardware. So u will require newer cards.

But, i did read somewhere that even DX10.1 supported tessellation. My fren has been working(BETA testing) with MS for a long time. He showed me windows 7 last year on his laptop. That time it had DX10 only. I will ask him now abt the compatibility.

Did no1 download Windows 7 out of the 4000 active members ??

i downloaded it ... but didnt yet installed it ... and no plans to install it till i get myself a new laptop ... i am planning to buy one in a month or 2

i have dnlded windows 7.but it was the version before the beta and they all had support for dx10 only.

brother that was not a runtime version this one is a SDK version nd the given links contains on that site are of Dx 9c version..........

Yes many members including me have downloaded and used the beta builds of Windows 7. There is a thread for the same. Please search for it.

No way...one of the reasons they keep developing newer versions at such short intervals is to support the driver & graphic cards industry...and share profits.
