its bit offtopic but the things which windows 7 is about to show now, i have already seen and used way back in year 2007 on linux. All these aero effects were there on my linux long time back using Beryl
then i tried compiz too but honestly can not forget the first touch of beryl

That way we can also say,
Microsoft copied sudo command in VIsta and named it "User access control"

can anyone tell me some details:

    1) what is the minimum required RAM for windows 7?

    2) how much disk space is used on a clean installation?

    3) what graphics card requirements are there?

does the 3rd point mean that we need to have a dedicated gpu installed ? i want to know whether i would be able to run it in my laptop ... it doesnt seem to have so much of inbuilt graphics memory ..

I have installed Windows 7 on different PCs and all of them had a dedicated GPU. So i cannot comment more on that.

But still i would recommend u to try installing the OS on trial basis. After installation, update the driver using Windows Update. Maybe a newer driver will make the experience a pleasant one.

Windows 7 will run perfectly but AERO and other graphics effects would be disabled

Aero was disabled by default in Build 7000 when i tested it. Also some of the regional themes were also locked (but can be unlocked) in the same release. Dont know whether they have unlocked all these in the releases after build 7000.

AERO was enabled for me by default only! But it depends on type of hardware.

Only time will tell the differences in between the beta builds and the original RTM edition. Lets hope they live up to the expectations and give us a good product.
