Thread: small help needed

hello everybody

can any body tell me can i connect my mic in and sound out which is located in front of the cabinet to pci sound card will it work as same as it was connected to the motherboard pin or it is no use i have got new 6301(7100) nvidia motherboard due to lighting my soundcard was not working when i took to their repairing center they told me that they will not repair my mother due to lighting effect and they gave me a sound card in the card itself thier is 4 pin can i cannot to that pin and remove the cable from mother board. i have ot plug my headphone to the back of the comp

if you will connect it to the front ports then also it will work fine without any problems but i will suggest you to use rear ports only as they can serve the purpose without any issues. I will really not suggest you to mess around with computer and motherboard if you are not very much comfortable with hardware part.

yes as smoothie told do not try & mess up your board if you are not used to handle boards... now a days 99% of the boards have built-in system so cant easily remove the ports and besides i don't think the problem is with ports. you told he gave you another sound card can you please tell me which type he gave you ie did he give you a card which you have to put in the PCI card slot ? if so then your front panel might not work as it is for built-in only there will be same type of pins on the sound card he gave you there you have to plugin the wire for your front panel to work.....

yes he gave me pci slot card sound card 5.1 yes it contains 4 pin slot in the sound card where i connected the cd rom sound wire can i unplug that and put the front panel wire in that pin of sound card will it work tell me

ah i am not sure of that just tell me which make & model did he give so ill check the details of it......!
as he has given you 5.1 channel so to plug-in a headphone or something like that first you have to merge all the channels or else if you use some real 5.1 channel movies or songs you will surely miss out the effect.....! post the model ill try to help........!
