There of-course should bean option for entering the Boot Menu. I can't see why it's not listed. By the way, if it's not listed, try trial and error method as newprouser suggested.

By the way, you really needn't worry about all this. There is no need when you have another way.
    Anyway, it's up to you.

That would surely help you out.
yes i checked it, this is same as "how to install/upgrade XP", that part i know already , the doubt that if i can install XP on mentioned config. was clear by your earlier posts. Main problem now is how to boot from CD as BIOS settings is password protected and how to change the boot order.

so trial and error is way 2 go...
hit and trial method for the password? i've already tried all the possible passwords which i can think of, i tried the default "0000" too.

That is what I already said...

You don't need to boot from the CD to install XP.

    @ danny86

    Listen to him yaar,

when u start installation from within windows, u don't need to have a cd/dvd drive.

IF you want to remove 2k and keep XP:

copy your Xp setup files to another drive other than where 2000 is installed.
Start setup and choose clean install and then do as usual.
after reboot you can choose to install XP in same drive as 2000 (usually C and then format it (your given this option).

    Bingo you're done
