yes it is working good but still as its beta version so i suggest you not to go for it if you are not very tech savy.

If you want to give it a try then there is no harm but do remember to backup your data before installing Windows 7. There is a new function in this version of windows which makes most of the Windows XP and Vista comp programs to work.

Please update your views if you give it a try

If you install the BETA, remember to first update it fully, otherwise all your MP3 files will get corrupted.

However if you know where to look, you can find windows 7 build 7057, which's the RC (almost same as released version) of the Win 7 OS... and it has many refinements not found in BETA.

    Good luck !!

    Welcome !!

I had installed the BETA version as well as the RC version and I did not find any major problems. But I didn't test it extensivly either.

The only hiccup I met with in BETA, was that I could not install drivers for my hardware (ie vista drivers were not working), however my cousin was able to find an updated driver for his configuration.

The RC version supported all my hardware by default and windows update also had intel driver update.(this option has to enabled manually in WU options).

I not sure about the BETA version as I mentioned before...

But in RC version I guess all drivers should work properly (maybe even available by default). As far as I know graphics cards drivers can be the biggest issue (based on past experiences), so do check their website , if you have one.

    Difference :

BETA = Having lots of major programming mistakes (bugs). So its meant for software testers so that all mistakes can be corrected.

RC = Almost same as officially released software, but can still have some minor mistakes here and there.

    Software Development :

Alpha -> begining stages of software development, low features, lots of problem

Beta -> Intermediate phase, contains more features, lots of problems know/unknown

RC -> Nearly same as the final edition of software, but can have minor mistakes too.

Depends on what AV you use. The particular company has to release a version supporting win 7.

When BETA was released a AVG and a new Kaspersky version were relaesed supporting the win 7.

If you use any other AV, check their website.

PS: If you find my info, please rep me...

No no yaar. BETA is (was) officialy released by microsoft to all users. Ie it was available for public download.

where as build 7022,7048,7057 are for internal use within M$ and their partners,so you cannot update them via net.

You can d/l the entire setup thru relevent channels on net and install it again.

Its great that games are working for you. What abt GPU drivers, are they default ones or the ones used in vista ?

    ^ use windows update...

And if ur using newer builds.. 7057 and later, u wont get old updates cos all the older updates have been integerated

wait for new updates, when they find more bugs
