If some one has choice between windows xp and vista, and his computer has large memory... my advice is to chose windows xp pack 3..

Because i have experienced both langue time, and i found vista the system who has lot of needs, like security updates every day and lot of softwars doen't been accepted for some reason !! and more

but widows xp in his last version, is safe fast and more confortable for both laptops and desk top ..

But the question is , what about windows 7, i didn't trayed it yet .

    1. I never had any issues running any of my normal XP applications on Vista , not even my office legacy Vb 6 applications.

    2. Let me know what application compatibility you faced/

    3. Vista is history, try windows 7 and i bet on it. It works like a charm even on 512 MB Ram and Intel 865 Chipset.

Windows 7 is the BEST OS ever produced which runs 10x faster and 10x secure than old outdated windows XP.
Try it once and report back your problems which i am sure will be ZERO. Install time itself is only 15 Min.

Im still using XP2 cause i find it really compatible with all software i use & also beacuse im used to it. Vista on other hand was quit problematic for hardware support. User friendlines XP2 -8/10!

    Yes,

You right, vista still with driver problems, and hardware compatibility... but he look good just for lap tops with very large RAM, like 4 GB .. and HD like 320 GB and more ... because he use more space
But XP is the best in this side, he don't take more space on the disc
