Thread: Does IE8 detect non genuine XP?

If you are very fond of ie8 . Follow these steps .
1.Download Mozilla Firefox.
2.Goto google and type "Firefox aero XP skin".
3.download the skin and just activate the theme...
4.Your Firefox just turn into Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.

The atmosphere you see will be similar to using IE8.

I suggest use Mozilla Firefox instead of IE8:

• Cause it is open-source and free software(no copyright issues)
  It has much better security measures
  Also IE8 doesn't support features like Web Dynpro, Firefox does
  Many add-ons are available to make life easier

A version of IE preferably IE7 or IE8 is required for most web sites
in India. For Bsnl users specially.
Even Chrome FireFox have add-.on to switch to IE. mode. ( IETAB etc)
For Instance I could not watch Indian TV channels ( paid service SUN etc )) on line in computer/TV. satisfactorily.
Except with IE8 and Windows Media Player.
Firefox needs Silver light but performance is not satisfactory.
same applies to Safari. ( quicktime not working )

PS: I don't have Admin facilities to install new applications.

IE8 can be downloaded for XP .
IE9 for Windows 7 and Vista.

If Updates are allowed IE9 can be also installed.

Yes. You can either download directly using set up or use " automatic updates " feature to install it. Please note that in " updates " list it will not be automatically selected. You need to manually " check " the box to download it.
