Default Series Problem: reinstalling Apache in Windows

    Hey guys,

i am into serious trouble..... i installed Apache server on my system yesterday and edited the httpd.conf file to change the DocumentRoot and Directory path to point to my custom folder. I screwed it up and it was still pointing to it;s old path. So i thought i will reinstall apache and do the set up again(I forgot a fact that there will be back up of original httpd.conf file). When i reinstalled Apache, i noticed that the httpd.conf file is not replaced. I mean the httpd.conf file that i edited before was still there. I uninstalled apache again, deleted the folders and registry, again the same bloody problem... it's fetching the edited httpd.conf file from, god know where. Even the original copy is replaced by my edited file. Need help on this guys, did anybody face any such problem, if so then wat's the work around??

Waiting eagerly for the responses. Thanks in advance.

P.S: and i meant serious in the title, sorry for the spelling mistake

Got it guys... The problem is Vista..... Vista and Apache doesn't blend easily with each other...... Actually you need to install Apache using command prompt.... you should run the command prompt in administrator mode and then install it.... Finally cracked it.. i am able to configure my httpd.conf too.... if anybody is facing the same problem and needs more info, please feel free to contact me...... till then see ya
