Default Crazy facts about softwares of Microsoft

    Hi,

This may be known to some of you, if you know then leave it else enjoy

    1) Open MS word and type "=rand(200,99)" without quotes and press enter and see what happens.

    2) Type Q33 NY on a blank page. This is the flight number of the plane that crashed into the World Trade Centre on 9/11.Do ctrl+a.Click on format button on top and click on the font button.Change the size to 72 and font type to Wingdings.See what comes.

    3) Type "bush hid the facts" and save it on your computer.Close notepad and again open it.See what is shown on the screen

    4) .You cannot name any folder as CON, AUX, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, PRN, NUL and so on. This because those names are restricted to the PORTS and other communication methods in windows.

will update more when i get them

First of all i would like to tell you that it's not about Microsoft and other IT Company. No computer program is perfect. There may be some glitches, errors or requires enhancements.

The things you mentioned are some bugs or some computational problem which computer can not handle like floating point arithmetic.

Here's one example of Google, when you use it like Calc (I hope you know fact that we can use it also as Calc and it works most of the time)

    Just Write

    399999999999999-399999999999998
    399999999999998-399999999999997

and click search button, you will get 0

    399999999999998/399999999999997
    399999999999999/399999999999998

and click search button, you will get 1

So what's wrong? Is that Google's fault?

I think No. There are some limits to which computer can handle floating point calculation.

Another Famous Excel 2007 bug is

    Multiply 850 by 77.1

The correct answer is 65,535. However, Excel 2007 displays a result of 100,000.

Number precision is a funny thing; did you know that an infinitely repeating sequence of 0.999.. is equal to one?

What do the Google, Windows, and Excel (pdf) math errors have in common? They're all related to number precision approximation issues. Google doesn't think it's important enough to fix. They're probably right. But some mathematical rounding errors can be a bit more serious.

So I suggest that don't blame it on Google or MS. It's common problem and one more thing MS will never point it out whether it's computational error or any company's fault.
They will try to provide you the best if you pay for it.

    No offence mate..Enjoy life

    nice info mate

    @nilact

ok i agree to some extent that, these are some sort of bugs(as you said) but according to i know bugs are those which is a type of loop hole or something which is wrong entry method but
The first one i said "=rand(200,99)" i dont think that is a bug, i think its a pure perfect programming to keep the conspiracy theories alive.

as i said, I am correct in this one here is the answer for it as Wiki answers it

WikiAnswers - Why is rand 200 99 turn to The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog

    @kirankumargb

First of all i would like to tell you that it's not a bug. It is facility provided to you if you want to insert sample text in your page

if you simply write =rand(), it will insert that one sentence you mentioned.

That facility is also available with Office 2007. you can try out =lorem()

    For office 2003

By default, this feature is turned on. However, this feature is disabled when the Replace text as you type option is turned off. To turn this option on or off, follow these steps:

    1. Click AutoCorrect on the Tools menu, and then click the AutoCorrect tab.
    2. Click to select or to clear the Replace text as you type check box.
