    Default Slow Network Copying Speed , Help !!!

    I have 2 systems .
    System A ( Main System )
    System B ( Bittorrent Box / File Server )

    ===============
    System A Specs:
    ===============
    OS = WinXP SP2
    Athlon XP 3200+
    ASUS A8V-VM
    2x500 GB IDE
    Normal Monitor + Keyboard & Mouse
    ==============
    System B Specs:
    ==============
    OS = WinXP SP2
    Intel Atom 230
    1x500 GB IDE .
    Headless File Server

    8 Port 10/100 Dlink Fast Network Switch .

    I have shared a folder on System B , whenever I try to copy files from that shared folder to System A It takes 35 minutes to copy a 350 MB .avi file, however if I upload a file from System A to the shared folder on System B it takes less than 2 minute.

    I have Tried the following

    0) Both machines ping fine , <1ms

    1) Transfer Mode on Primary IDE channel for HDD on Machine B is set to Ultra DMA Mode 5. [Read other forums and they stated that if the transfer mode is PIO then it could cause problems of slow transfer speed ]

    2) I use high quality cat 6a cables (not 5a/e, 6a is rated for 10G Networks) , I have replaced the cables twice and checked them using high quality cable testers , all pass with flying colors.

    3) Tried a brand new 10/100/1000 switch .

    4) Tried switching from Auto to 100 Mbps Full Duplex and 10 Mbps Full Duplex

    5) Formatted Machine A and B twice already just in case of issues with the OS

    I still face the same problem , copying files from Machine B to Machine A goes at snail speed , I used DU Meter ( Bandwidth Monitoring Software )

    Copying Files from Machine B to Machine A = Transfer Speed = 500 KBps
    Copying Files from Machine A to Machine B = Transfer Speed = 9.8 MBps

    Please Help , I have been googling this issue for over a month now ,

    Default

    Copied within hard disk
    is very different from Copy over a network.

    HDD - HDD Copy Speed would be in Some Mega Bytes

    Speed of Your lan is 100 Mega Bits.

    So calculate.
