    Default Boot windows Xp fast!!

Hi friends, i found this method to boot XP faster..

P S. : I am not an Xp user, kindly please check and let me know whether this method works or not...

    Follow the following steps

    1. Open notepad.exe, type "del c:\windows\prefetch\ntosboot-*.* /q" (without the quotes) & save as "ntosboot.bat" in c:\

    2. From the Start menu, select "Run..." & type "gpedit.msc".

    3. Double click "Windows Settings" under "Computer Configuration" and double click again on "Shutdown" in the right window.

    4. In the new window, click "add", "Browse", locate your "ntosboot.bat" file & click "Open".

    5. Click "OK", "Apply" & "OK" once again to exit.

    6. From the Start menu, select "Run..." & type "devmgmt.msc".

    7. Double click on "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers"

    8. Right click on "Primary IDE Channel" and select "Properties".

    9. Select the "Advanced Settings" tab then on the device or 1 that doesn't have 'device type' greyed out select 'none' instead of 'autodetect' & click "OK".

    10. Right click on "Secondary IDE channel", select "Properties" and repeat
    step 9.

    11. Reboot your computer.

I hope if will be helpful for XP users..unk:

    Default Just incremental

the above work...I've tried them before. But as I say are "incremental" as they are of no use if you have a badly defragmented filesystem, filesystem errors, corrupt and defragmented registry, and a lot of startup programs. So to get the real difference first correct the errors above and follow what the guy is saying.

I'm not saying it just like that I've used XP since 2001 and has stripped it in every possible way

    hey.

The piece of code deletes the Contents of the folder Prefetch (which is available in Windows System Folder)

That is Hard cache of Windows . It keeps tracks of frequently used programs for faster opening.

Practically no point of deleting it.
