download the latest RC from M$ and install it. AS of now you cannot update it. it will overwrite the prev w7 version.

Insert the RC 7100 CD, the wizard will show the option. I think there is something called upgrading from the latest version. I choose to install it as a new OS in a formatted partition.

I am not sure about installing from XP. When installed, I choose boot from CD. I think you can do it from XP or beta also. Simply insert the CD in XP or W7 Beta and check the available options (in the wizard). If you fail to find a proper one, try boot from CD.

its not necessary to write it into a DVD , u can run from HDD or from pen drive..

Choose the fresh install option, it will rename the windows folder to windows.old and continue installing.

True. It can detect older version of Windows, during boot (after they ask to select between Windows 7 and Older version).

it won't work ! Th older versions will restart every 2hrs starting from July, so u need to use RC version of windows to avoid it !

The latest is RC 7100. You can upgrade if it warns of expiry or simply want to change to the latest one.

I don't think so, since its not a official release of M$. Onl;y version 7100 and RC are offcially released by M$ to public !

i have upgraded to the evaluation version 7201. Its 64 bit, so at last i get to use all 4GB of my RAM. Btw, u can upgrade the OS, no need for a fresh install. But, u can upgrade to a 32 bit Version frm a 32 bit version only(same for 64 bit also).

Btw, the slowest part of my system is the HDD, i got a 5.9 on that. Any faster HDDs out there ??? (apart frm the raptors)
