    i m using Xp Service Pack 3 OS.......network connections take a large time to start...

    1.mention modem model and make.

    2. Post this data
    Start RUN type cmd ok
    New window
    type ipconfig /all

    3.Download ccleaner from FileHippo.com - Download Free Software
    run the application. How much MB deleted ?

    4. Post ADSL Data page of the modem or
    these details
    SNR U/L D/L Attn U/L D/L
    line speed selected Mod mode selected.

    5. After the modem connects to Internet
    ( please specify how long it took: say 5 minutes etc )
    can you surf normally ?

    All above may not be needed to solve the problem.
    just trying to get an overall picture of your system.
    Please provide the info asked for.

    REF: Check how your system is connected.
    how the LED's light up etc.

    not connected to any other network.........network connnections 1: ethernet port 2: bletooth
