Yea heard about that one. some ppl have problems during install with that method.

Also people are saying that 384 and 385 have been compiled by the Chinese. And they may have been injected with malware.

The real RTM version will be 386. It is due out in August, I'll wait till then.
I have already installed it. For one , the SHA and CRC values provided by software don't match with mine, but then again no guarantee that their values are correct either.

Anyways its true that virus scan will not be much useful.

You have to take ownership of the file to edit it. It won't let you do it otherwise.

It could be a rootkit, very difficult to remove even for the best AV software.

It's the Sound Card and WebCam that I am worried about. I am sure NVIDIA has drivers for every versions.

I don't feel like changing from my lightning fast Windows XP. :w00t:

    Start-up: 10 seconds (after boot)
    Shutdown: 5 seconds

But I will still give it a try after learning how to dual boot and uninstall.

    Try driver agent for drivers.

What is so difficult about it ?, there's no uninstall, jus format.

Really ? Not need to reconfigure the boot loader or anything ? I am still trapped in the time when I used to install Linux and remove the next day. My Windows XP is performance edition with recovery console removed. And there is no way to fix in-case of boot error. Or I would have done it a long time ago.

I use Xp in C and Vista in D, so even if i format D, the bootloader remains.

I use EasyBCD to change between vista and Xp bootloader.

You can use bootsect.exe from vista setup to achieve the same thing.
Yes, its easy as stated above.

when u try to install, choose same drive as ur older version of windows 7. It will ask u if u wanna save the stuff frm ur old OS(older W7). If u say yes, it will be saved in a folder call windows7.old .Else, it will format it and then install. very easy.

I installed Windows 7 RTM 32 bit. It's super cool. Now I need to check the new features and download compatible drivers. :w00t:

    Windows 7 Start Menu

    Windows 7 System Properties

    Windows 7 My Computer

    Windows 7 Display Properties

    Windows 7 MS Paint

linux... Is there anyway I can restore it?

I haven't used Windows 7 Release Candidate version. It was straight from Vista Ultimate 32 bit SP1 to Windows 7 32 bit RTM. So I can see lot of changes.

Never tried it. If this happens to me I will do a total system format.
