Thread: Latest windows update

My pc has been downloading this latest update using the automatic update thing but its been downloading and downloading for the last 4-5 hours and its still only reached 86% ... thats a pretty large file I guess as it has taken soo much time on a 512kbps connection.

Where can I find out what this update is all about or if you know what it is would you care to share

i assume u use XP
i never download win updates. they are just waste of ur bandwidth.
u can disable these updates as follows
right click on my comp icon>>properties>>

as shown in pic choose either 3rd of 4th option.

if ur using XP sp2, then chances are it may be updating to SP3, which is a time consuming. (350mb +)

Sorry its not a regular windows xp update... I downloaded .net framework yesterday because that Bhuvan earth (Bhuvan: India's answer to Google Earth) site wont work without it it was a .net update something I dont know its over now..

alright.....u can go to this folder
C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution

& in download folder, u can find the updates that were downloaded
