Angry urgent -install Windows XP on my Pre-Installed Windows Vista trouble

    Hi All,

I am trying to install Windows XP on my Pre-Installed Windows Vista Computer(Dual Boot XP/Vista).ITs a sony Vaio VGN-NS25G.

i followed the below steps but got stuck nd confused in one of them:-

(1)Open the Computer Management panel, which you can find under Administrative tools or by right-clicking the Computer item in the start menu and choosing Manage. Find the Disk Management item in the list and select that.
    ****please see the attached screenshot

(2)Now we'll shrink our volume down by right-clicking on the main hard drive and choosing Shrink Volume.

    ****please see the attached screenshot

When I rt click and choose the size that I want to shrink, which really means you are choosing the size that you want your XP partition to be.

Whatever I do ----i get only few MBs which is least on which i cant install XP. I cant roughly give any vlue greater then default -the SHRINK BUTTON DITHERS AWAY.
    ****please see the attached screenshot

so how will get the correct amount to put like 10gb for the installation now if the 1st step itself is stuck?

Actually as from the screen shot it is evident that it is your primary partition i.e. booting partition which you are trying to partition ...... thus somehow your OS is not opting for a larger size shrinkable volume greter than 310MB.
Thus in such a case you need to use some professional partitioners like Norton Partition magic,Paragon Partition Manager etc. for partitioning your hard drive rather than the Windows inbuilt partitioning options.
infact i would suggest you to wait for some more inputs from other members.
