The problem might be due to damaged RAM.Check your RAM by using memtest (http://www.memtest.org/download/4.00...+-4.00.iso.zip).
Download it burn it onto CD and run it after restarting the computer.
Perform the test.If there are any errors you might have to replace the RAM module/s.

Clicking on the link will start download of the .iso file of 67KB size.

Post understanding doctor watson set up- from munsif ali-pakistan

i refer to your reply thru which you have given advice, on disk read errors. i am munsif ali from pakistan, and express my opinion on doctor watson set up program contained in windiows 7 operating system and setting panel there of:

I draw your attention towards setting panel regarding doctor watson, which provides information about application errors. I append some text from help tutorial about doctor watson as follows,

Dr. Watson can be made to generate more exacting information for debugging purposes if the appropriate symbols are installed and the symbol search path is set. To do this, you first need to copy the symbols from the Windows CD-ROM into a new folder on your computer. Then you need to create a new system environment variable. First, go to the systemroot folder on your computer and create a new folder named Symbols. Next, go to the CD under \\Support\Debug\i386 and copy the symbols to the Symbols folder that you created on your computer. After the symbols have been copied, create a new system environment variable. While creating the new system environment variable, type _NT_SYMBOL_PATH for the variable name and %systemroot%\Symbol for the variable value. You can install various symbols to different locations separated by semicolons and point to each of those locations using the same environment variable. Be sure to include variables for added service packs. For example: _NT_SYMBOL_PATH=%systemroot%\symbol;%systemroot%\h otfixes;%systemroot%\symbolsNt4Sp3.
now I have following questions on dr. watson setting panel/ box,

01- wether the setting panel showing application errors, are actually the errors, or errors corrected by Dr. watson program?

02- How to go to CD \\support\debug\i386 ? as advised above in official help tutorial of windows,

03- can someone provide step by step instructions on creating new system environment variable.

hello friend thanx for ur valueable question and my suggestion is to d delete all ur contents and repartition ur hard disk again as the disk read error is due to the gap appearing between sectors so u need to rebuild ur partition table.

Post reply to niraj on his concept of gap between sectors

Thanks friend for your concept on gap between sectors. This is however not the reply to my matter concerning doctor watson. Computer is just a very interesting science to study, many people come with their newer correction ideas on correcting problems a computer is generating while browsing internet or working with applications.

I am munsif ali from pakistan. How would you reply to this question that microsoft windows xp software developer scientists, foreseeing all the system operations, took into account all those errors which a computer can generate. Now just imagine there are software available which cost 200 to 500 u.s. dollars for correcting problems of your computer.

Have you got your windows software validated from microsoft, Just recently while updating my windows 7 software on P3 computer, 650 mhz processor speed, and 128 ram, the microsoft said that I did not install genuine software.

So to avoid errors, we must first take into account the features of genuine microsoft windows software, and then check how our computer works.

Just recently when I registered with india study channel.com, a gentleman explained that there are two kinds of ram, the first kind of ram contents are volatile the other type of ram contents are non-volatile. Now it is just easy to understand, that a simple software can turn your volatile ram, into non-volatile ram. and after installation of that software , in case electricity turns off, that simple software will bring back all your tabs, pages back again on screen .

Did I misunderstand or did you just say that you tried to install Windows 7 on an old computer that shouldn't be able to run XP very well. Is it even possible to install it on there?
