    GUYS i found a free and good utility.
    Just go to:http://www.alt-codes.net/
    the procedure is to hold ALT and then type the particular number for the symbol that is written on the specified site.there are different numbers for different symbols.
    just try.for me its useful.

    Are these codes for inserting symbols with Microsoft Office text ?

    wherever u want u can put them including MS Office.

    I ditched MS Office long time ago. And now using Open Office. These codes are not working in it.

    I am searching for a Open Office alternative to this.

    i think it will not work in open office.

    It's not working in M.S Office either. So I guess I need to enable/disable some setting for this to work.

    Update: It started working. Right Alt + Right Numric keys.
