You dont get AERO because of graphics card.
Please post your Graphics card Info.
and also mention entire system details.. CPU, RAM , GPU etc

    bad luck.
    GIGABYTE - Support&Download - Motherboard - Driver - GA-K8VM800M (Rev 2.x)

GigaByte has not yet provided drivers. But google for it. If you have no card , it means its using on-board graphics.

For Aero , You need any graphics (on-board or card) with DirectX 9 capabilities.

For On-Board Drivers, check manufacturer website.

    Hope this helps.

I am sooo amazed at the enthusiasm you guys have in India about new softwares, operating systems and technologies! I also admire the number of people using Linux as I in Canada I dont know many people who have even tried Linux leave alone making it their main OS.
For the record I am still stuck with windows XP home edition. I did upgrade to vista but then reverted back to XP as I did'nt like it that much.

Does Windows 7 have anything special that windows XP doesnt?

It is a good upgrade if you are changing from XP to 7. If you are using Vista, you may not feel the difference. It is said to more stable and user friendly.

Vista was very resource hungry. It demanded a Ferrari just so that you could commute to work.

Windows 7 is more 'down to earth' in that respect.

+ as all core 2 duo CPU are 64 bit , i will say just install windows 7 64 bit to have an added advantage in terms of stability.

Try it atleast once and you will love it

Speaking of Vista, i never had any problems , neither i found it resource hungry. It too fits my bill.

    Extract from my earlier post.
Also Link from Microsoft regarding UPG to Windows7 given.

Windows 7 system requirements are very similar to those of Windows Vista, and users running Vista shouldnt have much problems upgrading to Windows 7.

Here are the base system requirements for Windows 7:

    * 1GHz or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) CPU
    * 1GB RAM for 32-bit OS, 2GB RAM for 64-bit OS
    * 16GB hard disk free space for 32-bit OS, 20 GB for 64-bit OS
    * DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver............

    Thumbs up

It is Eye candy of Vista like the nice and shiny GUI with the speed of XP imo.

Also I have been using 7 from the beta days
    I used the beta(the 68xx build)

    The RC (build 7100)
    And the RTM (build 7600)

And now the retail version is being downloaded.:P

And I dont feel like going back to XP and definitely not vista.

7 rules unless you like Linux.

Wow a 40 percent discount would make me more inclined to buy it. I talked to an eBay seller and he is selling the Win7 Home Premium for Rs.7100. This is the proper boxed version, not the OEM. And he said i have to preorder it now, delivery is around November 20th. That sucks big time!

Drivers are really too easy to obtain with this OS. I like it and I really don't need to abuse my dvd drive to put in those cd drivers for each of my pc addons.

I'm just having problems with my tv tuner.. it has trouble timeshifting, only with the audio part, unable to mute a certain channel of sound.
7 is just awesome! all my old skl games are working well (especially after a compatibility update from MS, without any noticeable drop in framerate from xp)..

    EDIT:
and yes apparently the airtel 110bx1 router is having problems with upnp with 7.... i had to disable upnp n dhcp for some peace of mind.. maybe a firmware update is required but its working fine with disabling these 2 features.
