Change the Key board as English (US). I think there is an option while installing.

hey dilip!he has posted in english so i think that there is no problem with language.

try installing ur previos os and check if ur keyboard works fine in it or not.
    also try reinstalling W7.

The keyboard setting makes a difference. For instance, the US-Eng and UK-Eng keyboards have different layouts. The UK Eng KB has '£' instead of '$', the right 'Alt' key is 'AltGr', etc. And the '@' and '"' symbols are exchanged.

So what meetdilip said is right.

The Windows versions sold in specific countries default to keyboard layouts of those countries. Check the keyboard setting is also something that I will advise.

    Don't apologize. Honest mistake.

The person here is probably using a copy from some country and hence KB mapping has defaulted to the country of origin.
