Exclamation My Computer restarts when resuming from Standby Mode

It has been nearly two months (or more) since my Notebook is restarting when resuming from the Sleep Mode. Its based on Windows XP SP3 with Windows 7 (RC) as dual boot and Ubuntu partition lost when I installed Windows 7 (I didn't get time to recover it yet). However, the issue is occurring only with the Windows XP.

Make and model of my Notebook is Acer Aspire 5920. There have been absolutely no Hardware, Software or major settings changes in the Computer since it last worked normally. It connects to a Wireless Network for Internet. Installed few tiny piece of Software from GAOTD. But thousands install them and they are clean. I've Kaspersky IS 2009 installed in the Computer.

I'm reluctant to perform a System Restore as it will remove all the recently installed Programs. There are no yellow exclamation marks in the Device Manager. What should I do to troubleshoot this issue?

my Notebook is restarting when resuming from the Sleep Mode......only with the
    Windows XP.

I downloaded a beta version of NVIDIA chipset driver from the ASUS site
for a similar problem, if yours also Nvidia.

Disconnect the Rj45 cable to NIC card and test.
Says Ethernet card driver/s may need update.!

I solved something similar by going into Device Manager, right clicking
every device, and - where offered - unchecking every instance of "Allow this
    device to wake the computer".
Yes, I know we're talking about hibernation rather than sleep, but it's
    probably worth a try.

Do you have any auto shutdown software installed ?

I faced similar problems with Shutter, because I have enable the option to "Start event when computer wakes up from hibernation/sleep".

Nice idea. I'll update all the Drivers from Acer's website. There is probably a BIOS update too. Shall I install it? Or speak with the tech support first?

There ain't any auto shutdown Software. However, there are few Software which I never use. So, I'll try uninstalling them. It's probably 14-15 months old Windows XP installation...

I get no Blue or Black screen errors... no error messages at all... the Computer restarts like normal... it's like when you click on the Restart icon...

    I'll check that Event Viewer.

    Try
Anvir Task Manager or Pro version ( trial)
to check the details of all applications at start up, to delete them .
