    .>>>>>By the way I am a computer novice.,<<<<<<
    Do not connect to Internet.
    Disable all application/s appearing in
TaskBar. ( specially any FW program )
    Keep quickHeal and try .
    Disable Quick heal and try.
    Still same problem
    2.
    Start,
    Control Panel,
    Performance and Maintenance.
    Double-click “System”,
then select the System Restore tab.
Select the 'Turn on System Restore” on all drives box.
    Click Apply.
    Click Yes. Restart your system.

    Feedback.

Thank you essbebe for your quick response. But 1st solution does not work and the 2nd solution the system restore tab is greyed out and the disk partitions are also not showing. so I can not do anything from that page.If I uninstall quick heal internet security 2010 then the system restore function works but it does not work even if I disable it without uninstalling.

Ccleaner is showing the restore points created earlier but I can not create a point manually from there and also in system property page system restore and create tab is greyed out.In safe mode I can restore from system tools-system restore. I have to depend on windows to create a point as I can not create a point manually and window is creating a point only when I install some updates.Thank you all for help.

Default windows 7 System restore in Normal Mode.

Are you the Administrator ? or user ?
    1.
Except FOR Not accessing SR in normal mode your other functions are Ok.
    2.
In clceaner you can selectively delete one by one SR points to save hard disk space etc.
    3.
As you reported that you are a novice,
no point in trying some advanced tweaks.
    ( like registry changes )
    Code:
    IF IT WORKS DON'T REPAIR
    4
Will update later , if some other easy method is available.
Enable email notification in your USERCP, for visiting this thread again.
Hope you have updated your Windows 7.

Quick heal 2010 is compatible with Windows 7 as per company`s website but in my case it is preventing system restore to function.I have tried disabling both the antivirus and firewall but of no avail.System restore works if I completely uninstall the quick heal internet security and firewall. Please let me know whether Norton internet security will work properly? Thanks in advance.

    2.
Another suggestion : disbale SR and then enable it.

    3.
TRY Windows Security Essentials. ( No2 AV now
    after a recent survey)
    FREE.
I am using it in XP Pro Sp3 OS.

4.What are the settings in Windows 7 Firewall ?

    5. Does "QuickHeal" open an error Window ?

I have installed AVG free edition.I did a full scan for virus and malware and it came clean. No virus or malware found. Most important the system restore is working fine now with AVG running. As I mentioned earlier,I am a novice and for that reason system restore is important for me.Thanks for your attention and time Essbebe.

AVG is not that good. Try Avira or Avast.
