Thread: Microsoft and Windows 8

Microsoft received a lot of flak for its vista version of operating system successor to windows XP . But windows 7 has almost controlled the damage done to Microsoft’s image. It is now according to reports supposed to be the fastest selling operating system in history.

Windows 7 service pack 2 is already underway and will be out by September. Apart from this Microsoft is believed to be working on Windows 7’s successor windows 8 which will be out in 2012 according to a leaked report, keeping with Microsoft’s trend to launch new operating system versions every 3 years.

There is lot of good news this year for Microsoft as its internet explorer 8 is supposed to be the most used internet browser today surpassing IE6. IE8 is successful mostly due to efforts of Microsoft encouraging its users to upgrade to newer versions .

Microsoft is also gearing up for release of office 2010.
