Default Optimizing Windows Xp to make your PC faster

DO you ever realize how slow your computer can be at times?? But there is a way to make your computer faster especially if you have a Windows XP.

When your computer is slow your files sometimes also take too much time to open too and at times the computer also freezes. Its at this time you realize that your computer needs to get optimized, because if its not optimized then the computers performance will gradually go down.

In order for you to optimize your computer's performance there are several different issues which need to be coped with.

    Clean Up Void Registry Keys
When programs or software's are uninstalled they have not totally been removed and a few void registry keys are left, which are not valid, but these are a factor into slowing your computer down. When you initially start up windows valid registry keys are checked along with empty keys, and when these accumulate this results in your computer starting up slow.

    Clean Up Redundant DLL Files
Also after a program installation a few DLL files are left back in the system disk which actually should also be deleted. These DLL files actually occupy your disk space and also your RAM resources and which you must know by now, slow your computer down. So DLL files should be deleted especially the useless ones, which would make your computer run faster.

Other factors into making your PC faster is by tweaking up the memory, optimizing the Internet, removing any junk files and so on.

Some may find this very difficult to do it all manually but you can also use an optimizing tool too!

    @Ruby

Hi, friend, Could you tell me the steps to delete/clean the given files
    Registry Keys
    Redundant DLL Files
    1
Also check in Ccleaner Option to delete old System Restore files. (download latest from filehippo.com)
    2.
No single [program can do the full clean up job.
    3.
For reduntant DLL files many applications are available
    try a google search :
    delete duplicate dll files
    or

    4
you can try software or drivers upgrade applications.
    Check web site. filehippo.com
Try Advanced System Optimizer. / Tune up Utilities
    etc.

Oldies like me still use Windows XP. Both on the desktop and laptop. Windows 7 is a big no no on a laptop due to high power consumption as I hear from reports from prominent blogers so till the time there is something really wonderful about a new OS I would stick to windows XP myself.

it is not that i do not know how to optmize xp..i actually use both xp and win 7..ubuntu too.. but this article about optimizing xp is for the heck of posting ..jus to increase the thread count..because this article discusses about optimizing xp and nowhere does the OP tells how to achieve that.. only factors are mentioned.. now how about a post on optimizing win 95.. jus kiddin

now it would be better if the Admins of this forum concentrate on rewarding those quality posts and not on number of threads or posts.

let Admin be the judge of quality..he is fair.

I don't find any fault with above article. It is good though it might have become very good if software for them have also been mentioned. But you can serach them using google.

There are people who purchase PCs preinstalled with windows vista or 7 and ask to install Windows XP, because they are used to Windows XP.

I know that about Vista many enterprises have done just that due to regression problems with vista but not about 7.

    You are lucky ......
My both Desktop and Laptop are new and does not support Windows XP.....
I have installed Windows 7 on both of them.
And for running Windows faster, i use three softwares:
    1. Advanced System Care.
    2. Revo Uninstaller.
    3. Diskeeper.
