To ensure your computer runs smoothly, it is advisable update thesoftware/programs/applications in your system.

One method is to open each application and check any update option is available regularly. this is a tedius method.

There are software applications which will scan your system and list all of them with present version number etc andrecommend whether updates are available.( with version number)

You have to register at the web site cnet.
