    Default Microsoft’s Phone to Home

Windows 7 has created new records on the sale. It has overcome the record of Harry Potter and the deathly hallows in Amazon. It is now the fastest selling operating system in the world. Windows 7, known as Linux killer is widely accepted by the IT community. Windows is all set to release service pack 1 for Windows 7. Apart from all these, Microsoft is worried about the propagation of Windows 7 cracks which allow user of pirated operating system to download Windows update and use premium services provided by the company. Microsoft has discovered around 70 cracks and made updates to patch them. Also the system will be examined every 90 days to confirm whether the user is using a genuine or pirated operating system.

There are cracks available that can break this operation too.

In Vista the phone to home update was masked as an important security update. A lot people sued Microsoft for that. This time, the update will be optional. You need not install it if you are using a pirated version.

Updates will be available. But this time we can choose which one to install. Microsoft always writes a buggy software first and then give patches. If Microsoft found your system is running on Pirated OS, it will downgrade the OS.

let me put it in proper words,no software is bug free and if any issues are found its quickly fixed by MS. So its enhances user experience.

I disagree with you. I run non genuine XP. Once my OS was detected as non genuine. I had to reinstall the OS. I have nothing against MS, but from the source I read it says they will downgrade if found out as non genuine. Let us wait and watch. If it is true, we will surely get a case in the forum.
