Default Installing Windows 7 in Virtual box

Have you started using Windows 7 ? If you are using Vista and switched to Windows 7, it could be a normal transformation. But if you do like most users and switch from XP to Windows 7, you have real treat in stock. You need not install it as dual boot in your machine. Instead you can use Virtual box and use them simultaneously. If you find it ok with your system and if you are satisfied with the performance, you may switch to it as primary operating system. Let us see how we can configure it in a Virtual box.
    1. First, install Virtual box. Make sure that all the options are selected.
    2. Install the drivers. Don’t omit this.
    3. Open Virtual box and click “ new “.
    4. In the virtual machine wizard, click “ next “.
    5. Give VM a name. Say Windows 7.
    6. Now select Windows 7 from version drop down list.
    7. Select the amount of memory you want to use. Do not allot more than 50 % of your total memory.
    8. Select create new hard disk.
    9. Click next
    10. Select “ dynamically expanding storage “ , click next.
    11. Select the location for storing VM data.
    12. Now click next.
    13. Click finish.
    14. Finish and your VM is now ready. Now we need to install the operating system.
    15. Virtual box > click your VM > Click start
    16. Click next
    17. Lead CD/DVD drive selected.
    18. Select ‘ image file “, browse to the iso image.
    19. Locate your iso and click “ open “
    20. Click finish to begin installation.
    21. Windows 7 will now boot.

Why dynamic, just for experimentation. I use VirtualBox to try most of the OS (linux flavours). I just have a hard disk (virtual) with 6 GB, I use the same for all the OS under VirtualBox as all are for testing purpose. As I have all the iso files I can setup the OS within few minutes.
