Wink Check Is your Nokia Cell Phone Original

Press the following on your mobile *#06# to see your Phone’s IMEI number(serial number).

Then check the 7th and 8th numbers

    Phone serial no. x x x x x x ? ? x x x x x x x

IF the Seventh & Eighth digits of your cell phone are 02 or 20 this means your cell phone was assembled in Emirates which is very Bad quality

IF the Seventh & Eighth digits of your cell phone are 08 or 80 this means your cell phone was manufactured in Germany which is fair quality

IF the Seventh & Eighth digits of your cell phone are 01 or 10 this means your cell phone was manufactured in Finland which is very Good

IF the Seventh & Eighth digits of your cell phone are 00 this means your cell phone was manufactured in original factory which is the best Mobile Quality

IF the Seventh & Eighth digits of your cell phone are 13 this means your cell phone was assembled in Azerbaijan which is very Bad quality and also dangerous for your health.

Best of luck to you all.............

    Thumbs down

this is some bullshit things to refer every company has got its own QA procedures which is followed in its manufacturing units regardless of where it is located.

and what about phones assembled in India and china

I heard of this problem previously that Nokia Cell Phones which are manufactured in China have chances of being fake and the parts used are fake.....but I am not sure how much truth it holds.

Check your mobile IMEI numbers, it will give you information about your mobile device and if it is not a valid IMEI number, it will tell you too.

I think there is a code too. Type *#06# on your Nokia mobile. It will display the IMEI number. Now, confirm whether this number matches with this IMEI number printed in the Battery bay area of the mobile. If they aren't same, the body of the mobile had been changed.

I and my friends always used this technique when purchasing mobile handsets from Gaffar market of Delhi.

    This site is interesting.

If you are sure that you purchased an original and it is working like original, why bother?

*#06# gives only the serial/IMEI number. If you want further details as: Date of Manufacture, Purchasing date, Repaired (if the set was sent to the manufacturer during warranty period) and Life Timer, type in the following:

    *#92702689#

WARNING: You may have to RE-BOOT after the display of the above information in some primitive Nokia sets.

It might not work with some Nokia sets, especially the very old ones.

    Try it!!

    ^Babu bhai,

this is not very important, where your phone is made. what is more important is that your phone doesnt like a cracker in pocket.
