Unhappy word 2007 or word 2003??

I am quite amazed of which one i should use..

2007 is the latest one, but i found 2003 edition more useful and non-confusing than the latter..
i am crushed in between .docx and .doc .. when i save my files as .docx, other computers arent able to read, even if sometimes i save them as .doc still it doesnt help much..

brothers whats the latest trend and usage?? what should i do? doc or docx??

should i keep 2003/2007 word edition.?? i am confused and pissed off.

i find 2003 useful.i use it very rarely.

My dad uses 2003 and he says that 2007 is not suitable to him.he don't like it because he knows more about 2003.

    i say stay on 2003.

Office 2007 is ok. I use it mostly. Once you get used with the interface it is a piece of cake. Ya, I too feel confused between .docx and .doc. Not all computers support docx as many are still using Office 2003.

That is definitely a concern. Unless the compatibility pack is installed, it is not easy to take a print out from cafe.

If you save the files as .doc in Word 2007, they are very well opened and read in Word 2003.

That is strange. Because one of my (company's) client has not migrated to Office 2007. I send them files in 2003 format (.doc, .xls, .ppt). No problem.

And, I am able to open the 2003 format saved files (from Office 2007) in OpenOffice also.

A file newly created in Office 2007 wont open in Office 2003 until and unless File Format Converters and Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack are installed on systems running on lower versions of Office suite.

Though a file created in Office 2003 will work fine with Office 2007.

Use Save As Option >> Word 97-2003 Document

    Refer: FileFormatConverters

Word 2007 is just amazing. I was using 2003 before, but changed to it. Its very easy to use and the layout is excellent.
