    Yes you can copy.

But best is to use Norton Ghost, it will copy your fist HDD to the second in the boot mode even windows will be copied.............It is a single step that can solve your all the problems of installing the new OS and then copying files.......

Don't be in a hurry. You may suffer like me. My 500 GB hard disk went faulty is is presently sent for replacement. Like you, I moved all my data to the new hard disk which later showed errors. It is wise to use the new hard disk for a month or so. If it is working fine, then move the data into the new hard disk.

Before connecting your old hard-drive to your PC install a good antivirus solution in your new hard-drive then copy all your data to new one by connecting the second hard-drive to your computer wwith help of sata cable. If you cannot connect it from hard-drive cable connect it from CD/DVD Rom. Good Luck.

12! awesome at this young stage u r already playing with the gadgets cool, keep it up, my advice would be just connect both your HDD's to the CPU and simple use normal copy past function as it will be more faster(and secure too) than anything else...
