Thread: Help regarding dual booting win 7 with windows xp

little confusion over dual booting windows 7 64bit with windows XP 64bit
I have windows XP sp2 64 bit installed on my pc...but right now i have
another new HDD, so i wanted to install win 7 on this new HDD keeping
my old OS windows XP on old HDD. my question is how to setup win 7 so that i can get dual boot option in booting...

Insert the Windows 7 DVD and follow the instructions from Wizard. Choose the installation location as you new hard disk. It will automatically detect Windows XP and you will able to dual boot. Hope this helped.

should i have to format the new HDD or leave it as it is which is not formatted and partitioned.

It will be better if you can format it.
