Windows 7 will run fine, but not in its full glory(especially the Aero theme). I do recommend to upgrade your RAM to 2GB if possible.

You will be able Windows 7 but there will be runtime issues.

    a) Motherboard: OK. I suspect that it does not support USB 2.0.
    b) Memory: Just about OK. Win 7 will run but for good performance you should have at least 2 GB.
    c) Processor: Will be loaded but not overloaded.
    d) HDD: OK.
    e) Onboard graphics: Fine as long as you are not playing intesive graphics games.
    f) DVD drive: does not matter.

On the whole, I will advise you to stay with XP till you upgrade.

If you are thinking of changing to Windows 7, try installing a 30 days trial version first. You can find trial version download links in www.mydigitallife.info website.

Congrats on a brand new OS. Enjoy!
But please don't overload the CPU by installing unnecessary softwares. As suggested earlier also, if possible please upgrade your RAM.

Dual Booting XP and Windows 7 is Far better than running XP from within Windows 7.
