Thread: Partition creating trouble during Windows 7 setup

My problem is that Windows 7 setup only allows you to create primary partitions unlike XP's setup which from the 4th partition starts making logical volumes. Thus the maximum number partitions that you can create during Windows 7 setup is 4. But I want to create 5 partitions. I can of course use disk management after installing Windows. But by then DVD drive gets allocated as D drive. The drive letter can be changed but with a warning that certain programs that depend on drive letters will not work.

ignore the warning..sab chalega....

as Anil said ignore the warning that certain programs dependent on Drive letter may not work!!ignore it!!And if u face any problem then change the new drive's letter to anything else and bring back the CD drive letter.

BTW , kya karega 5 partition kar k ?

India ka 2 partition huva...toh itna issues hai...and tu HDD ka 5 partition karega toh how will u manage ?
n kitna GB/TB hai HDD tera ?

Nice reason to have only 1 partition.
I have two 1 TB hard disks. I require at least 5 partitions to manage all the data(mostly music related).
OK, I will do the renaming method and hope that no problems arise and even if it did, imrock's method should work.

Only 17% of the total space is now free.
When you perform in an orchestra and each song takes around 150MB space, then only you can appreciate the worth of large disk storage space.

Talk to admin. Recently a change was made so that only members having 1000 + post can use an avatar. So it need to be configured for your profile.
