    Post Windows XP installation Error

    Hi guys,
I tried to install windows xp professional on my acer system using a pen drive. I dont have an internal HDD as it is damaged and i am trying to install it on an external usb drive. The system boots from the pen drive and shows that setup is loading the files. And immediately after that a blue screen pops up and says a message. I'm not able to move further. the message states something like this setup could not continue if this is the first time...........check for viruses on ur computer......run chkdsk-f....and so on....
So please somebody help me out in solving out this issue. Thankyou.

    The procedure is quite detailed.
Your BIOS should support booting from USB drive.

    please see @meetdilip post elsewhere.
Whether you can install Windows 7, multiple copies is also in doubt.
Say if you can install in a USB drive, any one can use it!
Users having Genuine Windows 7 please clarify.
