Thread: Chat Programs (Google ID - Sify ID) possible, howcome

Hi one of my friend added me on gtalk and her id is XXXXXXXXX@sify.com how come it is possible that a person having sify ID can chat with me in gtalk, if this is ok, then anyone knows other email service provider Ids which can chat with gtalk, google Id so that I can add them. How about microsoft communicator Id which companies use.
